Two big upsets last night as Patrick Cote TKO’d Kendall Grove and the old man Randy Couture successfully defended his title with a dominant TKO victory over Gabriel Gonzaga.
Patrick Cote vs Kendall Grove
The televised card started off with a bang as the underdog Cote punched his way to a win over budding UFC superstar Kendall Grove. Cote went into this fight as a the superior striker but for some reason Grove hung upstairs with him…big mistake…Cote landed a ton of bombs and finished him with a right hook behind Kendall’s ear…first round TKO Patrick Cote.
Result: Patrick Cote 1st round TKO
Next up, Joe “Daddy” Stevenson vs Kurt Pelligrino
Stevenson is widely considered one of the top contenders in the lightweight division, some would even say he should have already had a title shot. Kurt Pellegrino was 16-2 and on a two fight UFC winning streak. Stevenson maybe gave up a round or two in a solid unanimous decision victory.
Result: Joe “daddy” Stevenson Unianimous Decision
Roger Huerta vs Alberto Crane
Huerta is a bona-fide superstar, Crane is unknown but undefeated in MMA. That didn’t matter this night though as Huerta dominated the action after a close fisrt round. Crane gassed after the first and Huerta was landing almost at will, even using the jumbo-tron to land a few elbows when crane was behind him.
Result: Roger Huerta TKO
Georges St. Pierre vs Josh Koscheck
The comeback kid versus the superstar. GSP was looking to get back to his dominant form after his devastating loss to Matt Serra, and Koscheck was trying to assert himself as a true Welterweight contender after his victory over Diego Sanchez. Kos had only one loss on hie record and was considered the next big thing…until last night. GSP whooped him like he stole somethin for all three rounds.
Result: Georges “Rush” St. Pierre Unanimous Decision
Randy Couture vs Gabriel Gonzaga
The old man vs the Cro Cop killer. After a decent back and forth first round that opened a massive cut on the bridge of Gonzaga’s nose, Couture simply dominated the next three rounds. Holding Gonzaga against the fence and dirty boxing his way to a TKO victory. Apart from a few high kicks that had the potential to put Randy’s lights out, Gonzaga looked tired and beat up from the first round on. Even turning to referee Herb Dean and complaining about not being able to see during the second round. It didn’t matter though, Randy eventually broke Gonzaga down and punished him until a stoppage.
Result: Randy “The Natural” Couture 3rd round TKO Victory
Here are the results from the preliminary bouts:
Renato “Babalu” Sobral defeats David Heath by submission in round two
Frank Mir defeats Antoni Hardonk by submission in round one
Thales Leites defeats Ryan Jensen by submission in round one
Clay Guida defeats Marcus Aurelio by split decision

GO R-A-M-P-A-G-E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) :) :) ;)
gsp looked great, kos was not in the same league ,where does this put sanchez on the depth chart?, the koscheck’s, sanchez’s and serra’s are all in wec level.
As I said it, Couture has what it takes. Woooooo.
GSP STOMPED Kos! Gonzaga looked a little lack luster too…surprising.
i question some of the credentials the ufc puts out on some of their fighters, they built up sanchez to be the next great one then kos kills him then kos gets mauled to death by gsp,you have the top 4 or 3 in each division then it thins out big time.
Hahahaha I loved this ppv, Randy made me some £ and Kendall
getting KOd hahahaha.
Grove got knocked the fuck out lol and kos got schooled i love it.
I loved it, Randy’s the man!!! However, I just want to know why they had all the blood in the octogan before the fight even began. Why didn’t we get to see what put the blood there? And why can’t GSP wear longer shorts. I didn’t want to look at his “cup” all during the fight.
Hey hunter, I was aswell but that was psycho sobrals fault he went mad and destroyed David Heath.
gonzaga looked like a 255 lb wimp,(i can’t see!!)
