UFC86 Rampage Vs. Forrest Griffin

After “The Ultimate Fighter 7″ finale is over and there has been enough bad words said between Quinton Jackson and Forrest Griffin they’ll face each other in the Octagon and headline UFC86 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jackson’s last fight was his first defense of his title against Dan Henderson via unanimous boredom. Let’s hope that young blood Griffin brings some spark to the Octagon and kicks the crap out of Rampage. I know he’s defended the title once but I want to see a new title holder already!

Griffin knows all about being TUF since he won the first season of it. He earned his shot at Rampage after beating Mauricio Rua by rear naked choke way back last September. It was a shock to see that happen, I’m not going to lie but he won fair and square and was impressive en route.

This will undoubtedly be a HUGE event. I’m looking forward to it.

I really think that Forrest poses a legtimate threat. Rampage seems to be training pretty hard but he doesn’t appear to be in great shape. Plus Forrest has a monsterous size and reach advantage. His style, in my opinion, matches up alot better than Chucks did. All that said, I stand baffled at the amount of chin Rampage has, both literaly, and figuratively, and wonder who, if anyone, has the ability to knock him out with a punch. I just watched his first fight with Wandi again as a part of my regular pre-fight research, and MAN, that guy took some of the biggest knees I’ve ever seen, and was still standing. Sure he was basicaly out, and reacting off of pure instinct by the end, but he was still on his feet! I seriously wonder if anyone can land a punch any harder than Wandi landed those knees. I watched the second fight as well but I dont base much on that due to the short notice and the shape he was in. The only fight in which I’ve seen him in worse shape than that was against Ninja. Now here’s the real threat: CARDIO. We all know Forrest can BRING IT full throttle for AT LEAST 15 minutes. Judging by his fight against Tito I would say he could go 25 at that pace. And we all saw the Rampage/Hendo fight, but I still dont think hendo pushed the kind of pace or offered the strength and size at that weight that Forrest does. This is why I think Forrest CAN be the next LHW champ. Not that he’ll dominate for years to come, but that if this fight goes past two rounds, I almost guerantee a new 205lb champ.

I have absolutley no doubt that QRJ will put him to sleep in round 1!

You have got to be shittin me if you think that Forrest can even stay in the same ring with my boy Rampage for longer then 2 rounds? let alone win the title. Come on pimpin, wake on up.

Totally agree with that. Griffin need to train more to be in QRJ’s league.

guys lets not underestimate anyone, first of all I would like to say that both fighters are great fighters and it could go either way, but Griffin is usually underestimated, he has superb cardio and trains just as hard if not harder than anyone, he can take a punch and actually when he gets hit he seems to come to life even more, now with that said Quinton has fought the best of the best and has already established that he can defend against wrestlers and take a punch(or knee for that matter, lots of em) hes not goin to give the title to anyone without leaving everything hes got in the octagon, My personal predictions is we are in for fight of the year, or at least up until july but I give it to rampage in the 3rd TKO…..cant miss this fight!!!!

Put up or shut up for all the 205 pounders now because my main man Anderson silva is now a lightheavy weight comfortably! This guy is the bruce lee of the sport and on july 19th He will take out the sandman! it’s going to be a fun year everyone and you are about to see a lot of knockouts this year! I cant stand rashad ghetto fabulous evans! what a thug. shit I would knock him out if I saw him in public! what a jerk.. he has more cockyness than anyone put together! see first rampage fight on saturday will be fun! I want rampage to win but that one is up in the air because you can never count forrest out. next I want to see anderson whip sandman’s ass, and then I cant wait to watch chuck lidell stomp a mudhole right in that a hole rashad evans.. I wanted tito ortiz to beat him even though I did not like ortiz! Roger huerta is my absolute hands down favorite in the lightweights! Bisping is my favorite lightheavy yet he is not ready for silva yet! give hime some time and he will be your new lightheavy! .. for the heavys I am saying to everyone that frank mir will come back and win the title! dont count frank out yet.. He was in a severe motorcycle accident that took well over a year to come back from yet he is fighting soon and will do it possibly in 2009!

rashad prepare to have chuck lidell rearrange your face and then shortly after that anderson silva will remove your face!

roger huerta is going to demolish bj penn–soon even though i love bj
yeah from girls too no really bj will lose to roger huerta!

and thiago alves the cocky cuban will get his ass handed to him by st pierre!

also josh grabge mouth koshceck will hopefully destroyed this saturday and shut up that big mouth of his and so we no longer have to see his dumb peroxide colored hair anymore!

it will be a blast on saturday!

my anticipation for anderson silva to win the lightheavyweight title is big! yet I like chuck lidell as much if not more yet he is ageing and younger guys tend to triumph. Although randy the natural has proved us wrong.. Age is a limiting factor yet the most limiting factor or successful factor equally is the mind! No one I have seen has the mindset to win like lidell and anderson silva! Rampage is a great champion yet I have seen him get overpowered by smaller fighters before!! Dont count Rich ace franklin either because this guy is a mental strategist! Probably in my mind the strongest mental fighter in all of mma is roger huerta! he is unstoppable lately!!

id like to say that bisping is not all that, i heard what some people were saying earlier about him, hes not going to be lightheavy, he got beatdown by matt hammil in what was a very upsetting decision in bispings favor. that fight was a complete rip off in my opinion, and it was in bispings own home country, bisping is just a cocky guy with a big mouth, hes already been beaten even tho the record might not show it. and as far as this rampage fight goes, i think rampage will probably knock him out. i am a rampage jackson fan and i have to admit imma lil nervous cuz i think forrest is capable of throwing the big punch but in the end i think rampages power will get the job done. i say late second round k.o. or maybe 3rd round. and lidell is still capable of beating rashad evans in my opinion. but anyways matt hammil is a really good fighter, people underestimate him because of his disability i think, and by that i mean he doesnt get enough media attention, media is all over people who run their mouths like bisping. i think hammil will be champ of the world one day cuz he is one of the best fighters out there, he may not be flashy, but he knows how to throw down. and im lookin forward to seeing the result of this rampage fight.

guru, u said that if the fight goes past 2 u guarantee forrest will when but yet u said u predict a 3rd round tko by jackson? how is that possible? and in the same comment u said forrest all the way if it goes into the 3rd and then u said rampage will tko him in the 3rd. the predictions arent makin much sense here, i say that rampage knocks him out in the late second or third round, but i just feel that forrest is capable of winning, i dont think forrest will win, im just sayin anything could happen, but i got my boy rampage winning this by knockout.
