UFC78 Fight Update - Hector Lombard Prohibida La Entrada

Cuban grappling superstar Hector Lombard won’t be able to make his UFC debut against fellow Karo Parisyan at UFC78. Unfortunatley the Cuban National was not granted a visa to enter the US, even though he now resides full time in Australia.

Too bad really, this guy was poised to make a serious mark in the UFC.

Lombard recently fought to a draw in July on a Cage Fighting Championship card but was on a four fight winning streak after he left PRIDE. His appearance in the UFC gives us all hope that we might see a rematch between him anf fellow PRIDE star and also new UFC fighter Akihiro Gono.

No word yet on a replacement.

UFC78 Update - Houston Alexander vs Thaigo Silva

The card just keeps rolling in.

November 17th in New Jersey, on the undercard of Rashad Evans and Michael Bisping…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…will be the electrifying Houston Alexander, who as I am sure you know, has completely oblitereated his first two opponents in the Octagon. He beat Keith Jardine like a circus monkey in his first surprising appeareance, and then spanked Alessio Sakara his next time out.

Silva is an undefeated fighter though, and likes to crash and bash a bit too, so we could anticipate some fireworks this time around.

This card still needs to get better to yank $40 bucks outta my pocket though. (Ya right, I’m a fiend.)

Stay tuned for updates.

UFC78 - Validation Headliners Confirmed

UFC78 will NOT feature Tito Ortiz vs Rashad Evans Pt 2 - The Snoozer. It will in fact have undefeated (yeah right, baaad decision, from now on we’ll call him 13 - 1) Michael Bisping against 15 - 0 - 1 Rashad Evans.

This is all according to UFC.com, whichas we all know could arbitrarily swap in fighters like they were trading hockey cards, so don’t hold us to it.

The rest of the rumoured card looks like this, we think, sort of:

Karo Parisyan vs Hector Lombard

Frank Edgar vs Spencer Fisher

Joe Lauzon vs Jason Reinhardt

Dave Terrell vs Ed Herman

Ryo Chonan vs Thiago Alves

Tamdan McCrory vs Akihiro Gono

Liddell Vs Silva May Never Happen

Allright now we’re running out of things to friggin cheer for!

Whats the next massive super hyped up fight? Who could draw the salivatiing hard core MMA fans out of the woodwork? We’re running out of superstars people!! Fast!

Wanderlei Silva vs Chuck Liddell was the next big highly anticipated marquee matchup in the UFC. But word on the street is that after his loss to Keith Jardine, the UFC might be bailing on the whole Liddell - Silva showdown alltogether!!

Sorry, but thats a giant WTF!!???

Here is a line from an interview I ran accross on sportsline.com:

“I don’t know if that fight will happen anymore” ~ Dana White

Are you freaking kidding me? Is this Melrose Place? They’re gonna fight then they’re not gonna fight then they’re gonna fight then they’re not gonna fight.

Please. Let’s just get it done so I can go back to my OC dvds for my emotional drama fix.

UFC78 - Validation Fight Card

Yo people, UFC78 has bee confirmed for November 17th in New Jersey.

They haven’t solidified a card as of yet but Tito Ortiz is going to be the headlining fighter. Whether its a rematch between him and Rashad Evans or a showdown with Dan Henderson is still up in the air. Personally, I think Hendo would take his head off.

Heres what the card is sort of supposed to kind of look like a bit:

Tito Ortiz vs Somebody

Karo Parisyan vs Hector Lombard

Frank Edgar vs Spencer Fisher

Joe Lauzon vs Jason Reinhardt

Dave Terrell vs Ed Herman

Ryo Chonan vs Thiago Alves

Tamdan McCrory vs Akihiro Gono

Obviously we’ll update you when this shizz in confirmed.
