Wanderlei Silva Vs. Chuck Liddell

Chuck Liddell Vs Wanderlei SilvaSe ha confirmado - Chuck Liddell Vs. Wanderlei Silva is happening kids. Now from what I can see is that he is mentioning that the fight will be on the 22nd of September but UFC75 (Jackson Vs. Henderson) is on then… There is no way they would put BOTH these two events on in one month… Or would they? I’m gonna tag this as UFC75 and UFC76.

Live and direct from the Axe Murderer HQ we have this and my translation:

The date of the fight of Wanderlei Silva is confirmed.

It will take place on 22 of September, in the United States - place and schedule TBA.

The matchup between Wanderlei Silva and Chuck Lidell had already had been discussed for around two months, and now it increases the expectation of the fans in following the final preparation. After many challenges, Liddell will have the chance to face Wanderlei.

The aboe is what I tried to translate, here is the translation from the site when you click on the American flag:

“But the best news is that my fight against Chuck would finally happen. This fight is being commented on, here, in U.S.A and there are no excuses anymore. I´ll make he swallow every word he said about me.Warning to you Chuck: I hope you are training very hard, because I will show you Who Silva is. I´ve never had so much eagerness to win this fight”.

UFC75 is all about unification

pride-ufc.jpg

It was up in the air for awhile, first it was the possibility of PRIDE vs UFC Mega Super Awesome Fights, then we watched as all of the PRIDE contenders bailed and walked over to the UFC, and then PRIDE seemingly bailed and folded up like a cheap tent.

Now, after months of speculation Dana White himself confirmed that the Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs Dan Henderson Championship bout at UFC75 will be for the PRIDE AND UFC titles!

Whart? Two organizations pitting their independent champions against each other to decide who is officially the best?

Pssst, hey boxing, want to ever be popular again? Watch and learn.

Cro-Cop to fight Cheik Congo @ UFC75

It looks like the used-to be-immortal PRIDE superstar Mirko Cro-Cop Filipovic will be back at UFC75 in September.

Dana White announced it on ESPN on Tuesday (Props to ufcmania.com) that Cro Cop, who is supposed to be injury free, will make his return to the octagon against Cheik Congo. The 240 pound Frenchman is coming off a decent majority decision victory over Asseurio Silva at UFC70 and is 10 - 3 - 1 as an MMA fighter.

Cro Cop is recovering from an embarrassingly savage knockout at the hands of Gabriel Gonzaga, who as a result is fighting Randy Couture for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC74.

A title shot that was prematurely reserved for Cro Cop.

He states in an interview that “I am one of the most dangerous strikers in the world, but unfortunately, I did not prove that reputation in my last fight” (courtesy 15rounds.com via ufcmania.com…damn, I’m hurtin for content!)

We’ll see big fella…you were supposed to knock Gonzaga’s head into the fifteenth row.

UFC75 Michael Bisping Vs Matt Hamill

Well it looks like that Ken Shamrock fight is not happening for Michael Bisping. Instead he’ll be taking on fellow TUF4 competitor Matt Hamilll.

Bisping who is undefeated with 13 wins will be face Matt Hamill in the Octagon. Hamill is also undefeated with 5 wins. The fight is scheduled to take place on September 8th, 2006 in The O2 Arena, London, England. UFC75 is going to be one hell of an event.
Also featured on the UFC75 card is the light heavyweight championship unifier between PRIDE’s Dan Henderson and Quinton Jackson from the UFC.

UFC75 - Shamrock Vs. Bisping?

Hasn’t this guy had enough? I gotta hold up my hands and say that this guy is one tough mother f%#cker. How old is he now, 93? Or 43, or was he born in 1943? Whatever the answer is, Ken Shamrock has been around forever and been in the UFC since it started. He took an incredible beatdown twice in 2006 and twice in 2005. In 2006, Tito Ortiz TKO’d his ass and in 2005 he got TKO’d in PRIDE by Kazushi Sakuraba and by Sir Rich Franklin in the UFC.

Well, according to NBCsports, Kenny wants to get beaten up some more… Rumors are flying around that he will fight in UFC75 against Michael Bisping, this again is to be confirmed but he perhaps might be a good match up as cannon fodder for Bisping to pummel into the mat. Does he really need to fight? Or does he need the money? The guy’s already a hall-of-famer, what reason could he possibly have to want to keep fighting?
