Here’s a brief overview of last night’s Elite XC card from Texas:
In the opening contest, Antonio Silva hammer fisted the hell outta Johnathan Wiezorek before finishing the fight with a rear naked choke.
Aussie standout fighter Kyle Noke looked to have some slick Jiu-Jitsu in his victory over Seth “The Doctor” Kleinbeck. It was a real doctor however, who called a stop to the fight when Noke opened up a vagina sized gash over Kleinbeck’s left eye.
Up and coming welterweight Jake Shields looked sloppy in the opening minutes of his contest with Mike Pyle but managed to catch Pyle with a rear naked choke to end the fight.
Street fighting and Youtube legend Kevin Ferguson AKA. Kimbo Slice made short work of Bo Cantrell in his MMA debut. In what initially appeared to be a possible work, Slice threw only 1 body shot and a glancing elbow to elicit a tap out from Cantrell at the 0:19 second mark. Once Cantrell got to his feet however, it was clear he was caught by something the camera apparently missed as his entire face was swelling up in the shape of one of Kimbo’s giant ham hocks.
In the main event of the evening, Karl James Noons dominated Nick Diaz with beautiful hand combinations to capture the vacant 160 pound championship. KJ caught Diaz with a hard body shot early in the first which seemed to suck the life out of the Ralph Macchio look a like. The fight was another doctor stoppage after the first round as Diaz’s left eye had completely swollen shut. Diaz vehemently protested the stoppage but as Noons said in his post fight interview “How many times did I knock him down? I would have finished him soon if the doctor didn’t stop it.”
We need your help loyal readers! In an effort to expand our content UFC-Fights.com will be covering more than just the UFC going forward. As our readership has been growing rapidly and the hits each month increase, we feel the time is right to broaden our horizons.
This has made changing our domain name a necessity.
We are asking you for feedback. If you ran an MMA website, what would you call it? (Mental note: MMA.com actually has NOTHING to do with Mixed Martial Arts. Doh!)

UFC-Fights.com recently sent 8 people to the Fedor event at Mark Ecko in NYC on Monday. I should have named this article the “Fedor Emelianenko press conference” but I thought the “alternative” title was better because it might stir up some good possibilities and rumors!!!
Here are the main points from the conference as reported on by David Vale:
M1 does not want to be a limiting organization, eg Monte Cox stated that Fedor could fight in UFC or another organization while he is on M1 contract.
Fedor would be honored to fight Couture said Vadim Finkelstein.
Fedor says he respects Couture but even more than that Fedor respects Couture as a human being for his personal qualities and traits. Couture is a role model he said.
M1 wants to be Global not regional or national like UFC stated Cox. They want to see international fighters and international champs, similar to PRIDE. Monte Cox says he expects UFC fighters to eventually sign with M1 because the league has tremendous potential with less restriction.
The rules are still not figured out 100% (eg use of elbows or pride kick rules on the ground) Cox stated that rules need to be formalized and legal internationally so things are still in consideration as what is legal in Japan or Russia may not fly in the USA or vice versa.
Fedor was asked what does he fear most. Fedor said that as a young child he feared darkness but now he doesnt like that there is war in the world this is scary and he said he wants peace.
There are no restrictions as of now on Fedor to partake in any commercials, movies, or endorsements etc.
Fedor was asked since you are #1 which fighter is #2. Fedor stated that he is not #1, he said he has not fought every fighter so he cannot claim that. On the other hand M1 reps and owners consistently repeated throughout the conference that Fedor is the world’s #1 MMA fighter.

Bas Rutten spoke to Kimbo’s agent Icy Mike and it looks like the fight with legendary fighter Tank Abbott could be on yet another poo poo Elite XC card.
Kimbo wants to make it happen, Tank wants it too. It was supposed to be on October 12th and Rutten was training Kimbo and since that didn’t happen and they didn’t take it to the parking lot and Kimbo has to stop street fighting or he’ll kill someone, soooooooo, *deep breath*, it’s all on again. BOOYA. Watch the mofuggin video now freak!
Date right now is TBA but it’s gonna be on with EliteXC.
