UFC85 Update (again)

It seems like the draw against Tito Ortiz and the split decision snoozer win over Michael Bisping has earned Rashad Evans a shot at the former Light Heavyweight champion. Chuck’s had a few fights since losing his title so he’s not exactly in contention for the title any time soon. Perhaps a win against Evans might kick him up the list?

Chuck Liddell impressed with a good win over the Axe Murderer, Wanderlei Silva. Roll on UFC85!

Heavyweights Fabricio Werdum and Brandon Vera will face each other as the only other confirmed fighters on the card.

    Hi

Does any one know if brock lesnar is still fighting at UFC 85 in London
Now he is fighting at UFC 87?

Thing it suck if he is not a fight card that looked to be exiting with top fights will be reduced to a ok fight card.

Dont think it will get much british support if it’s not a top class fight card and could spell the end of UFC in England. In my view!!!!!

I dont know about the end of the UFC in England, I mean, we all survived UFC50 here in the states and the UFC is still around. I will agree it doesnt have the greatest matchups, but I think it won’t put that much of a dent in our stock in Europe. Look at UFC49, it featured Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell, but they were taking on Vernon White, and an emotionally distraught Vitor Belfort that couldnt beat himself. But here we are years later, and the UFC is stronger than ever. But I digress, Chuck should DESTROY Rashad with ease. But you cant blame the UFC, they wanted Shogun, but Shogun wanted to keep all of his teeth. Go figure.

Yeah shogun vs liddel would have been a great matchup, but think it will be the first loss for evans which is good. iam a massive fan of the Iceman

The reason why i dont think there will be many more events in England is that the UFc claim that international events run at a loss, and tickets are anywhere from £75 ($140) for cheap tickets to £200($400) for the average seats and without top class fights that people outside the USA might not of heard of who is going to pay that price to watch it I think they needed this fight card to be special cost i think MMA is ready to take off in Englang

And with growing compertation from rival mma companys now, and former UFC heighweight champ Arlovski and other looking to leave the great fights could be a thing of the past.

    Hope not thou.

I agree with you two, I have always wanted to go to a ufc in england but the cards are rarely great and my favorite fighters almost never come over here (Randy,GSP), Thats one of the reasons I tend to get more involved with Cage Rage as far as seeing the events over here, BTW I heard UFC were negotiating a new deal for AA, Lets hope it happens!

Sadly i dont ever think there will be a great fight card outside the USA because just for coming to fight in England Iceman gets 85% of the money which doesnt leave much left to encourage other big name fights to a card.

Iam going to watch the one in London but think it mite be a one off as the trip is costing me bout £400.

Was hoping to see brock Lesnar the guy is an animal and will defo have a futher in MMA just has to work on submission but still did great againt one of the best submission guys out there.

Yeah think i might start watching cage rage too.

Randy vs Iceman fights were some of the greatest fights ever, Randy was a great fighter shame he retried.

What do you guys think about this - “Sure, my brother Ken did them his whole life. Why do you think that his mind is so fried? Why do you think he crumbles before the big fights? He’s got no psyche. He let steroids give him a false sense of security and the moment that stuff is gone he’s no longer superman. He’s just a regular man. But without all the hard work and without all the belief in himself that a regular man would have if he got up to that point. He’s the only guy that I’ll tell on, because he’s always in trouble anyway.” - Frank Shamrock

I think that Frank should just get ready for Kung-Lee and STFU because in 15 drug tested ufc fights,Ken has never tested positive!

The shamrock name is a lengend in mma

But only Franks he help make the sport what it is to day
he is fighting in ellite now so is frank.

But yeah i agree frank should leave all the writing crap out, and is only trying to fill kens shoes which are to big to fill for frank.

It looks like they will fight soon mayvbe its just hype, we all know that the Shamrocks always hype up their fights, Frank is an idiot in my opinion, I hope Cung Lee kills him!

WELL look who was right UFC 85 has be reduced to a who the hell are these guys. iam seriously considering selling my ticket. I am starting to turn on ufc i think it is the biggest rip of the decade not the biggest fight in ufc in the uk. £75 for what every fight in the usa has at least 3 good fights on the card we have none now

    Chuck Liddell Vs. Rashad Evans
    Fabricio Werdum Vs. Brandon Vera
    Jorge Rivera Vs. Martin Kampmann
    Marcus Davis Vs. Mike Swick
    Nate Marquardt Vs. Thales Leites
    Matt Wiman Vs. Thiago Tavares
    Jason Lambert Vs. Luiz Cane
    Roan Carneiro Vs. TBD
