Watch this space. Randy Couture could fight Fedor Emelianenko in the UFC!
That’s right kids, the only man that is left for Couture to fight is Fedor Emelianenko, so much so that he left his contract blowing (somewhere) in the wind way back after beating Gabriel Gonzaga to take the UFC heavyweight championship belt.
Meanwhile things aren’t working out too well with Fedor Emelianenko and thus he is being released from his contract next week. Looks like M-1 didn’t work out too well, besides, the UFC has the money so it makes sense that he’ll come over and fight in the Octagon.
Watch this space for more news. It’s like the Liddell Vs Wandy fight that we thought would never happen but it did! I’ll leave you with butthead’s (Dana White) comments about Fedor:
Emelianenko is about to get out of his M-1 Global contract, and, in the words of his manager, “Officially, yes, Fedor will be a free agent.” UFC President Dana White responded to that news by saying he would try to sign Emelianenko, “Absolutely, 100 percent, in a heartbeat. People think he’s the best - I don’t, not even close. But if it’s somehow possible, I would make it happen.”
GREAT attitude. That’s REALLY gonna make the guy want to sign. Another reason why I think the fight may not happen in the UFC is because of Couture’s public outing of how the UFC rips off their fighters.

Right now Randy Couture is the best heavyweight fighter in the world. Randy has been my favorite fighter since his dad told me he was entering the world of cage over years ago. But Randy is riding the wave of age. His training is unmatched but a simple 6 month to one year lay off for him is different for someone his age than someone 10 to 20 his younger, I don’t know, he is the natural. I just hate to see him out of the ring, he’s losing ass kicking oppurtunities because of the greediness of Dana White and the UFC. UFC needs to step it up and so do the rest of the fighters of the UFC, take a stand! Fight for what you are worth! Without Randy and some of the originals who helped build this sport for the UFC, there would be no UFC
I totally agree with this, Randy is the best fighter the ufc has ever seen in my opinion, I hope he returns and beats Fedor to end all the talk about whos the best Heavyweight in the world!

WOW!!! I think I just got more stupider having heard that. I mean it, you reak of PRIDE bias! But for your sake, I’ll back you up. Anyone who disagrees that pride has the top quality fighters and puts on the top quality shows, just watch Kiyoshi Tamura vs. Aliev Makhmud from Pride 29 Fists of fire. Pay close attention to the emense technique and skill demonstrated by both of these masters of their respecive crafts. This will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt which org. has the best fighters and maintains the upmost height in matchup quality.
Dude, the only reason pride fighters like Wandi, Shogun, and Fedor have had the kind of luck they have is the palooka effect. Huh? Whats that you ask? It’s when a fighter gets spoonfed a bunch of “gimmie fighters” like all of these guys were. Example:
Shogun:Capoeirao(0-0), Antonio(0-0), Santos(now 16-11), Wanderlei(not Wandi), Shoji(now 14-16-5), Gono(19-8-7), Namekawa(14-12-1), Kanehara(13-11-1) and Diabate(11-5-1) were all nobodys, his only notable fights were against Sobral, Rampage, Lil Nog, Overeem, Arona, Nakamura, and Griffin. Two of which had previous fights in UFC, both of which he lost to decisively. He never really had polished kickboxing skills, anyone with reach, and a clean striking style, with decent takedown/ground defence will beat him EVERY TIME! He will have a hard time adjusting to the level of competition in the UFC. Mark my words, he won’t ever beat, Liddell or Griffin, or even Bonner for that matter, its simple style vs. style fight logic. Honestly, I don’t think he’d beat Rampage right now if they got matched up again. The most talented fighter to come out of pride is Machida, and he gets no respect from the biased PRIDE fans.
I agree with Guru, Machida is a better fighter in the ufc than Shogun (without the roids), losaped is simply just not looking at the whole picture, Fedor isnt the best unless he fights the best and Hong-Man whatever hes called isnt a top fighter, Randy is! There is absolutley no reason why these guys shouldnt fight in the UFC!
Both fighters defeated a common opponent in Kevin Randleman.
It took Fedor a few minutes to beat Randleman while Randy
took more rounds. I think it would be a great fight and Fedor will win.

Trust me, I dont like to make predictions, just state possibilities. But in this case, I MUST straighten out all you nut-huggers. Fedor CAN NOT handle Randy. Watch his fight with Coleman. He got taken down easier than a dress on prom night, and in this stage of the game, Randy can do alot more than Mark can. I.E.=Randy WILL DESTROY Fedor, not eek out a close decision, D-E-S-T-R-O-Y, DESTROY him!!!

Well I dont know who granda is, but I highly doubt they he can beat Randy, nor can Fedor for that matter, but we’ll see who wins, they will fight cause its BIG money, and anyone who has money would be an idiot not to set this up. As inflated as Dana’s ego is, I’d still be pretty surprized if he does nothing to obtain this fight contract. Thats just bad buisiness. LOL… “poor Couture”… Thats funny!
