Wow. UFC79 Nemesis… This one is probably going to go down as a HUGE PPV buy for the UFC. The biggest fight of the year was definitely the last fight of the year and as a spectator of the Wanderlei Silva Vs. Chuck Liddell fight, I was NOT disappointed!
UFC79 was a class event apart from Melvin Guillard being an idiot, but whatever, if you read the results below you’ll understand that justice was served :) Matt Hughes was dominated by Georges St. Pierre and the final fight, the rubber went to the mat and GSP pulled a result which was not as expected, regardless, he is the interim UFC middle weight champion and will fight Matt Serra for the belt.

I am stoked for GSP and Liddell. *H*U*G*E* win for Chuck, he had to win. As much as he is a UFC poster boy and Dana loves him, if he had lost that fight he probably would have retired or been booted out of the UFC. He needs to get to the gym and train and get back on top. Good to see him wrestle a little also towards the end.
I think EVERYONE Wanted to see a KO, it looked like it was going to happen then he stepped off the gas as he looked a little tired.
i thought gsp and chuck made up for the rest of the card !,but man that undercard stunk,sokoudjou showed nothing ,guillard made a fool of himself send him to the minors where all that crap is tolerated,and sao should have stayed home,irvin fight was a 1st rd DQ,manny had no problem taking mohr out i just watched lister fight and that was a bomb also,like i said i loved the lidell /silva and gsp /hughes well worth the cash but if your gonna put a undercard on make it wortwhile,looks like gsp /serra april 19 in montreal if serra is healed..
WOW what a ppv! Soko got OWNED WTF WENT WRONG? Gsp looked amazing and im tellin ya that guy will be champ for years in the ufc! Iceman shut up his critics and peppered Wandi!
I apologize for doubting Chucky. He’s clearly back. I’d still like to see him improve a bit, and Wandy was not at his best. Good to see Hughes get really humbled, too, but now it sucks that it prolongs the wait for Hughes vs. Serra. Oh well, all around they were some great fights.
does’nt it bother anyone how they build wandy up to be your biggest nightmare !,most aggresive fighter in the world ,then fight night arrives and he looks small and not so scary after all..pride and ufc is like nhl and ahl,pride was the minors
It was funny to see Chuck doing takedowns, and I wondered why Wanderlei never went to the clinch. But it was a fight to remember.
just watched them all again for the 3rd time,buffer announced gsp as 5 feet tall forgot the 10 inces ,pretty funny,any word on how serra’s back is doing?
Chuck is the man! It was great to see him prove all the haters wrong! He will be champ again in 08! ICEMAN IS BACK!!!!!!!!!
theres no way wand got pwnd. he took everything chuck threw at him. chuck dint even have the balls to keep it standing the last round. he knew he was ahead so he went for the take down.
What a load of crap, Chuck took him down because he got tired and it was a brawl and a takedown was what he needed to be sure of winning the fight just like Rashad Evans did against Bisping! Wandy did get PWNED, He didnt threaten “The Iceman” the entire fight!
I know Wanderlei can finish Chuck. I was wondering why he didn’t appear aggresive, I’m guessing he was studying him more for a rematch. And Honestly Chuck isn’t all to watch. But when he knocks out guys it’s about as good as it gets.
