OK. I’ve been trying to be impartial about this, but Sean Sherk’s recent comments about the California Athletic Commission were too much.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Sherk tested positive after his Lightweight Title defense at UFC 73 almost 6 months ago. Since, he has been going on diatribe after diatribe against the Commission, all but swearing on someone’s grave that he’s never touched steroids.
C’mon dude. Get off your high horse……
Most people in this sport have used at some point, be it to heal an injury (as was the case with Sherk’s UFC 73 opponent, Hermes Franca) or to put on size. Numerous fighters such as Jeff Monson and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett have recently publicly admitted that they and most other fighters have used steroids on a regular basis.
Now I’m not saying that I know for a fact that Sherk uses (he sure does have all the signs of steroid usage though). I’m simply saying Sherk needs to grow up. If the commission did botch your test, then you have a right to be pissed off. But the reading 12 ng/ml was 6 times the legal Olympic level. Could their test really be that off?
Saying you’ll never fight in the state of California again is akin to a little kid getting pissed off and taking his ball home.
Seriously dude. Botched test or not. You should just be counting your lucky stars that you’ve still got that title around your waste. Stop crying about it.

If, Sherk, popped positive from using tainted xyience, he should seriously look at suing rather than his child like antics. To be in a sport as popular as mma you build yourself a reputation and to have his tarnished to me is grounds to sue. However, I’m not a scientist, but.. are the levels found in his blood to high for the amount found in his xyience? I’m truly asking because I don’t know. Can someone who does give me their opinion because that would allow me to make a more educated guess. Can hardly wait for UFC 79 people!!!! I’m already on the edge of my seat!

Well, I am. I mean guys using streoids in UFC is making it look bad. Ufc is the only entertainment I watch (Better than Hockey)by 20 times better.

Yes, ignorance is bliss. Perhaps we all should just enjoy the mma sport and leave the politics to the owners. I myself enjoy the entertainment and couldn’t care less where a fighter hangs his hat or what he does in his personal life. I only care what he can do in the octagon. Big John retiring kinda sucks because I’ve always found him to be firm but fair. The UFC octagon will be suffering a huge loss without Big John’s expertise.
I guess in any sport there is always things between the lines that we need not worry about. I agree, let’s just enjoy the good times while we can and enjoy the show! My family already thinks I’m crazy for watching “fighting” but hey I love it. To each his own. I get the hint when they tell me to shut up about it cause it is the centre of my converstions. Fan? Does this not reek of favoritism? Sherk and White are buddies and Dana has been quoted that he believes Sherk is innocent. Perhaps more damaging it sends a message to the CSAC and other athletic commissions that the UFC will pick and choose what it wants to believe regardless of their test results. By saying he believes Sherk, White is indirectly saying that he doesn’t believe the regulatory body that found him guilty. That’s not good.
Let me get this straight…..Sherk is found guilty..but Dana being his bend over buddy is making sure Sherk has that belt over his fireplace..TOTAL B.S. Why Strip Barnett and Sylvia?? My theory is that both guys were told beforehand that they had to go the full five rounds. This is why Casino magnates should not be running a fighting league. How could it be just a coincidence that both guys got busted for juicing? It makes more sense that they knew beforehand the fight would have to go the full 5, so they both prepared accordingly. Just think back and recall how many chances Sherk had to take Franca out earlier in the fight. It would have also been a huge payout for anyone who bet on the fight going the distance. Franca was way out of Sherk’s league. Just a theory, but it would explain a lot. Especially the way Dana’s got Sherk’s back in this.

Sherk tested positive for steroids, this is bullshit! If he is gonna let Sherk get away with it then why doesnt he bring Josh Barnett back and give him a title shot! BOTTOM LINE : Sherk tested positive for steroids! Lie detectors arent even positive about their results! He had steroids in his body! He should be stripped!

Well enough about Sherk, I’m personally disgusted that Big John’s retirement wasn’t acknowledged last night on the ultimate fighter finale. Truly rude on Dana’s part for Pete sake let Big John know publicly he was a valued employee and will be missed. Big John don’t know if you read this but in case you do Michelle from Canada thinks your awesome and I’ll miss ya big guy!!!
