Chuck Liddell, arguably the most successful MMA fighter of all time and a household name. A hero to men and women alike (15 women a week apparently). Chucks legacy seems assured with victories over the great Randy Couture , victories over Tito, Babalu, Belfort etc etc.
Since loosing to Jardine however, Chuck seems to be hinting at a return to the octagon in a more journey man role. Fighting because he loves fighting rather than going on a mission to win back his light Heavy Weight belt. From Chucks point of view it could be a long road back with multiple obstacles on the road such as Shogun, Jardine, Forrest, Hollywood, Alexander and of course Rampage. A minefield of talent. The toughest division in MMA.
If Chuck decides to fight midlevel opposition will he taint his legacy? Is there a way back to the top for the 37 year old in such a competitive division?

Chuck can get the belt back if he changes camp, btw I dont see NOgun as an obstacle anymore I truly think most LHWs would kick his ass if he fought how he did vs gump, TWO WORDS, CHUCK

Interesting! Chuck’s style is somewhat old school compared to these up and comers and recent big names. Changing camps yes I would agree. can an old dog learn new tricks tho? with all his experience,chuck had no answer 2 a simple leg kick,punch combination.its not like jardine was trying something new.thats his bread and butter an chuck knew it.

Hes one of Danas Buddys so I expect “Iceman” to be in the ufc for a while, and hopefully get back to his best.
I realize the Lidell Jardine fight was a good card and I agree about the leg kicks. That’s why I said in a blog or two ago he obviously needs to study tapes and mix his own game up. The leg kicks were a no brainer after about the third kick. There should have been no reason for Chuck to let it keep happening like that. What was he thinking. Chuck will always be my favourite fighter. And yes like a warrior he took those kicks. He is far from done in this sport that’s for sure. As always likes to land the BIG ONE!
