UFC74 Results Update - Georges St. Pierre

georgestpierre200.jpg Okay, Maybe Renato Sobral needs a lesson in sportsmanship and humility, but all of us fight fans can be PROUD that there is a guy like Georges St. Pierre involved in the sport of mixed martial arts.

He came under criticism for his comment after his devastating loss to Matt Serra, and although ill-timed, I believe that he was trying to be honest with his fans. But instead of fighting with the media and critics, he ducked the spotlight and decided to let his fighting speak for his character.

Not only did he prove his worth as one of the best UFC Welterweights in the world at UFC74, he proved that just because you might be better than another guy, that he may lash out disrespectfully at you, at the end of the day you have an obligation to be a noble and respectful individual to whomever you cross paths with.

Check out this post fight video posted by UFC.com and it shows the true mettle of what a fighter and man should be: Gracious in victory, regardless of your opponent or his actions towards you.

We are fans of a sport that continues to come under criticism and scrutiny for its bloodshed and brutality, but at the forefront of our premier organization stands man that makes the ambassador of ANY of the other major sports look like a no manners thug.

Congrats on the victory to a guy that makes it so easy to root for that when he loses it feels like it happened to you.

Gsp deserves a shot now, he made koscheck look like an amatuer
or a fight with Parisyan or Sakurai.

  2. 2 Marvin

That is what I had in mind, I don’t really favour him, but I honour your victort. All best wishes fellow Canadian.

Yeah Randy was real nervous before the fight with Napao, I think he got a bit lucky breaking Gonzagas nose.

I love St Pierre! Not that I don’t like Koscheck, I do he’s cocky and has reason to be. I was so excited when GSP took Hughes off his high horse and surprised that Serra took the belt…But what amazes me is how he dealt with it. He is right it doesn’t matter who the best fighter is it’s who fights the best.

Kos was made look bad by gsp and kos made Diego Sanchez look like a nobody so “Nightmare” has got a lot of work to do.

I think that the loss to Serra will increase georges growth as a fighter. Do not be suprised to see him become champ once again.

No doubt man, after Hughes vs Serra, GSP will get another shot.
