Round one. A few shots exchanged, cautious start, Griffin with a kick to the leg. Guida tries to take Griffin down but gets a fat uppercut on the way. Guida gets him down and Griffin gets the guillotine but Guida escapes. Back up and Griffin takes his back and hits home with a few punches and scattered about, there are a few more weak punches then a good knee to the body from Griffin from the clinch. Griffin gets another good knee shot and a big right punch but Guida hits back. Griffin has a great uppercut and lands one and swings for a head kick, semi connection on that. Guida hits back with a right punch and tries to take down Griffin with no luck, round up.
Round two. Griffin swings a big ole shot out there and the jabs, Guida goes for the same kick that Griffin ended round 1 with. Griffin’s take down D is amazing but Guida gets him down only for Griffin to get back on top. They get back to their feet and there’s a scrappy exchange of punches and then a few leg kicks from Griffin. A belly to back suplex from Griffin and the he’s on top. Guida reverses and he’s on top. Guida gets the knee bar and Griffin is bursting punches on his kidneys. Guida’s gonna be pissing blood for a few days after this.

Griffin turns and hooks the heel, applies pressure and gets some shots in. Guida hits home with some back fist strikes and then makes it into Griffin’s half guard. Guida on his back but Griffin rolls out. Then Guida gets the half guard from the top and is punching down on Griffin. The result comes in and surprisingly its a win for Tyson Griffin, a split decision. That surprised me.

That surprised me too. Everyone I was watching with thought for sure Guida had taken it. By the look on Griffin’s face at the end so did he. Took a lot of class for Guida to congratulate him anyway once they made the announcement. Guida’s got my respect and hopefully the judges will make better calls in the future.
I am totally pissed at that result. I hate split decisions - they are the worst win. When you say “a win’s a win” I think that’s a crappy way to decide, they should implement a 4th round for non title fights in the split decision scenario. Even in a title fight, a 6th round.
So you want fights to continue till somebody gets KOd/submitted/TKOd the ppvs would go on for ever you idiot.
Yeah what’s wrong with that? Ever watch K-1? Someone has to win, there is no tie bullshit.
Tito rashad was the first draw in the ufc in FUCKING AGES with full fights
that go on until somebody wins the ppvs will be longer ufc would be in shit.
Saying that, I watched Greco Vs. Hoost today in K-1, borrrrring zzzzz…. UFC is great, I love it. Needs to stop turning into the WWF though, its getting a bit cack like that.
