What’s your style?

At the beginning of the UFC we saw brawlers fighting wrestlers, kickboxers scrapping BJJ practitioners etc etc. Nowadays the fighters all need multi skills to survive in this awesome sport.

Most of the martial art styles are represented in the UFC in one way or another. Kickboxing, Boxing, Thai Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Judo etc. Where are the guys who practice Kung Fu?

Bruce Lee trained Wing Chun Kung Fu prior to forming his own style, Jeet Kune Do. The philosophy of Jeet Kune Do was simple, don’t be limited by using only one style of fighting. There are no styles, only fighting. Bruce Lee mixed styles and used techniques that worked for him (sound familiar?).

Some say this was the birth of MMA.

Man, how can I say this. I’ve practiced three different styles of karate since age 6 and some Brazillian Jiu Jitsu.

    I have NO style :(

Bruce Lee was one in a million. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone that compares to him. I grew up watching him because my brother was in to all that stuff! I seem to like someone that is grounded in all the styles. It makes for a more interesting fight. Thats just my thought.

Seriously, Bruce Lee was amazing and was probably the inspiration for me starting karate then MMA. I remember watching Game of Death when I was a kid.

I’ve been to his grave in Washington State, near Seattle, it was definitely a chilling experience, I felt “something” when I was there. He was and still is considered by me to be a genius.
