Oh my god! BRING IT! My boy Georges St. Pierre could be fighting Josh Koscheck at UFC74. I was reading this over at UFCMania.com and spotted this gem. Koscheck has the contract and I hope he sends it back with a signature on it. St. Pierre winning this will give him another chance at the title, I am pretty sure about this.
I have visited Montreal many times, that city’s awesome - the atmosphere is unbelievable, especially when the Montreal Canadiens (or the Habs) are in the playoffs. It would have been even more charged up if St Pierre had defended his title against Serra because we would have had Georges St. Pierre taking on Matt Hughes in the Bell Center (home of the Montreal Canadiens) - that would have been awesome.
Anyway, between St. Pierre and Hughes meeting again for the rubber there has to be a few fights in between. Koscheck’s next then I imagine he’ll be entitled to a shot at the welterweight title. St. Pierre Vs. Koscheck at UFC74 looks to be a good prospect, I can’t wait to see St. Pierre beat the crap out of Kos - no disrespect to Josh Koscheck but but St. Pierre’s my favorite fighter in the whole world!

i don’t think jos is ready for gsp yet, take away that one lucky shot to the side of gsp’s head by the terror and gsp is the biggest thing in the ufc still,gsp by tko round 2..
i hope gsp takes his time against kosheck and gives him a good beating.i thought koscheck was a bully in t.u.f program.the boy needs knocking down a few pegs and gsp is just the man 2 do it.
I think this is a must win from GSP, that means a lot of long, ranging shots, I think he’ll KO him, flying knee to the face or a big kick to the head.

well, if my memory is correct G-S-P had the title belt and proved that he wasn’t man enough to keep it. he gave it up to Matt Serria @ ufc 69 . and koscheck keeps improving also, koscheck speaks so loudly with his actions people can’t hear him talking. his action in the octagon speak loud enough for me. we will all see august 25th, 2007

Any give Sunday a man can step up to a title holder and punch him in the jaw and KO him. Why don’t you list me some of the champions who were undefeated forever. Are you saying Kos even has a chance of being the welterweight title holder? There are WAY too many better fighters than him, he hasn’t got a chance.
every fighter has a chance ,even more so in the ufc ,thats what makes it so exciting to watch,no bums in the ufc.

hey there bean, i don’t know if u just watch and enjoy watching ufc fighting,or if u have ever been to a ufc event, i know koscheck personally; i’ve hung out with him , i’ve ate lunch with him and i’ve had dinner with him a few times and have spend time with him. koscheck is a very fast learner,and he is a very focused fighter.and i have spent time with other fighters as well, but he has in my opinion the eye of the tiger in his eyes. and i’m not taking anything away from any other fighter out there in the ufc , but when G-S-P and KOSCHECK lock up , i believe KOSCHECK will come out on top, i didn’t get my nickname xstimexsmoney for nothing, studying fighters and knowing who to pick to come out on top.
How do you know he is a fast learner? When you were eating lunch, at first did he use his fingers and then see you using a knife and fork and then “learn” how to use them?
I am going for GSP just for class and experience. In time Kos will get experience, I think he’s cool, I just like GSP better.

GSP beat one of the best wrestlers matt , bjj bj penn, Frank trig good at stand up.. GSP has too many weapons kimura, armbar, tko punches and plus he has the cardio.
Koscheck havent seen him really fight only against diego.. that didnt impress me. it was like watching a wrestling take down match and a few punches.KOS didnt even do crap to diego sanchez he just pressed the game and got the win. nothing really great.
Koscheck hasnt really knock anyone out maybe 1 opponent. kos is a ncaa wrestler but all he gots is take downs.

Had G-S-P been able to keep the title back in April against Matt Sirra. KOSCHECK would be getting his title shot in August. to me it’s not how a fighter fights , it’s getting the W that counts.

GSP will win.
GSP is really hard to takedown especially without a diverse aggresive striking way to get in. Koscheck doesn’t have that. He doesn’t even have the punchers chance that Serra had. Plus even if he gets a lucky break GSP will get up, or reverse. he’s fast, clever wily and athletic. Also, remember even it there is a bit of wrestling it’ll be MMA wrestling not tournament wrestling which means the GSP arsenal which is wider and more spontaneous will prevail.
And in overall footwork / striking to say Koscheck is going to get outclassed is an understatment. Sorry.
hey there gpam , i thank u very much for your opinion, but i’m still putting my money on koscheck, he keeps impoving by leaps and bouts and as i recall koscheck has aggresive striking, ask diego sanchez, koscheck 1st strike was in sanchez’s mouth most people don’t know that koscheck blooded his mouth with his 1st strike sanchez was sucking the blood and swallowing it. and from vegas odds sanchez was 85% favored to win that fight back @ ufc 69. koscheck’s background is wrestling , but yet koscheck only took sanchez down once @ the end of the 1st round and stood toe to toe with sanchez the rest of the fight. and kept aggresively striking,i do think G-S-P is a good fighter ,but i just believe KOSCHECK will get the W over G-S-P. i just happen to think KOSCHECK is a very smart fighter, he gets his W’s , and that’s what counts, getting the W.
koscheck didnt come across as being very smart when he was on tuf.he came across as a nasty bully.and then a coward,due 2 the fact that the bullying tactics stopped when his pal left the house.

if u dont like getting hit u have 2 build up a tolerance 2 it,u do this by sparring and letting yourself get hit.
ive seen top grapplers fall apart after taking a few shots.
by building a tolerance 2 punches,when under attack u dont panic or flinch.
koscheck hasnt learnt this,even tho its a well known fact.
as for the half full,half empty debate im more of a “this waters nice” kind o guy.

bean my friend i don’t know about you but gsp looked a bit off that day.the guy that was overpowering world class grapplers like matt,bj,the muscle shark,and others was not fighting that day.he was a bit tentative but that is just what i saw
hey there bean; yes i do have thoughts about other fighters other than KOSCHECK, i’ld like to see RANDY COUTURE retain his title in august, i was very disappointed, to see LIDDELL lose his title to JACKSON @ ufc 71, however i really don’t think LIDDELL was very focused for that fight,for some reason. and i’m hoping in the future some time that we will get a rematch between LIDDELL and JACKSON for the title. i also think that ANDERSON SILVA is a very good middleweight champion and really don’t see anyone taking the title from him anytime soon.
This won’t be the first time GSP takes on a great wrestler. Ask Hieron (NCAA) how his fight with GSP went… not sure that he remembers. Wrestling is hardly an obstacle for GSP. If he’s hungry enough, he should make short work of Koscheck.
