07/07/07 will be a BEAST of a fight night for UFC fans.
Anderson Silva is the guy with the middleweight gold and he’ sputting that on the line against Nate Marquardt. This will be his first title defense since winning it from Rich Franklin and if you remember the destruction he caused to Ace then you know what sort of fight to expect!
Also on the card is lightweight powerhouse, Sean Sherk who again is putting his gold on the line against the Brazillian sensation Hermes Franca. Now what I’d rather be watching here is Sherk versus Mayweather Jr. after his UFC/MMA bashing but hey, this is going to be a sick fight and not a pushover for Sherk!
As if that’s not enough for fight fans, we’ve got the recently acquired Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira stepping into the Octagon for the first time for a heavyweight matchup against Heath Herring. Big Nog’s definitely going to be getting a title shot in the near future, I only hope he’s been training in the cage and we don’t get another fight like the Gonzaga Vs Cro Cop where the ex PRIDE guy gets KO’d. Moving on…
Tito Ortiz is a superstar of UFC and he intends on bringing his own flavor of punishment and pain into the Octagon in an effort to kill Rashad Evans’ perfect record of 15 wins, wuite impressive on Evans’ behalf and I think this is also going to be a mega fight.
