After sustaining a knee injury during training, UFC up and comer Martin Kampmann will not be facing former middleweight champ Rich Franklin at UFC73.
Kampmann has looked solid in all of his UFC fights which include a unanimous decision over Thales Leites in the TUF 4 finale and a modified triangle choke submission of Andrew Mcfedries at UFC68
This puts a massive hole in the main event of UFC73 which is taking the UFC spectacle to Ireland for the first time. Finding a legitimate replacement for Franklin wont be too difficult but whoever faces him would be rocketed into contender territory if they manage to beat Franklin.
